VEISTO serving plate stands and candle holders are the new product line for Ullakko. The design for VEISTO has its origins in traditional Finnish wood carving products, now with a modern twist.
VEISTO was launched at the Tendence Fair in Frankfurt in June 2018 and received there a FORM 2018 Design Award by the German Association of Arts and Crafts.
VEISTO is composed of two parts; the silhouettes are cut from Finnish birch plywood and easily put together. Although the product is light, it is very sturdy when assembled.
The material of VEISTO is a very durable, PEFC and FSC certified, sustainably-grown birch. Grinding and careful surface treatment are done by hand, so the wood will not absorb any dirt or stains.
The path the serving plate stands and candle holders travel from birch forest through production takes place entirely in Finland.
